Here’s a quick bite for San Diego travelers: look no farther for late night food than Rudford’s Restaurant. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a 24/7 breakfast menu, it’s a classic American style diner with a few Mexican favorites, a vegetarian menu, even a special dog menu for your fur babies. It’s been a fixture in the North Beach area of San Diego since 1949 and is a locally owned family business. The retro decor is authentic and fun, but you’ll find it’s as well maintained and clean as if it were newly opened.
Even showing up for a midnight breakfast, the hash browns were fresh and crispy, the poached eggs perfectly runny with hot hollandaise, and the side of refried beans we ordered with the egg dish were exceptional creamy and savory.
We had no trouble taking a cab then an Uber to and from our hotel in the Gaslamp District, and you won’t either. This is a winner; keep it on your list.
